Our Programs
Bimonthly Enrichment Meetings
Cry of the Children programs meet every second and fourth Saturday of the month from 11:00am-1:00pm at the Crestmont Boys & Girls Club located at 1111 W. 12th Street. We offer childcare for elementary and middle school aged children and provide enrichment activities such as:
- Tutoring
- Choir practice
- Step Dancing
- Educational Bingo
If you are interested in joining our choir or dance team, or are just looking for a fun Saturday activity, come join us at no cost!

Application
Single Parent Support
We offer support for parents in need, including:
- Counseling and guidance
- Mediation and support for custody and case conferences
- Providing school supplies
Even if your problem isn’t listed above, we encourage you to reach out if you need help. We will do our best to get you the assistance you require.
Youth in Crisis
Cry of the Children also works to connect underage independents in need of assistance with community members and resources who can help them. Areas we specialize in include:
- Emergency housing
- Probation assistance
- Providing clothing and other necessities
Reading Program
We will be contacting the teacher at the child’s school to determine their reading level, work on phonics, and vocabulary, and use materials that the young person is interested in and we know that will encourage them. We have support and help from:
- a Title One teacher
- 8 volunteers from Sororities
- The Community
By making a difference and building self-confidence and self-esteem, we have already seen a change in our young people.
Single Parent Support
Mrs. Boddie is launching a support group for single parents to exchange resources, extrend shared babysitting, and tips on dealing with issues.

Throughout the year, we also offer many other opportunities, programs, and events, including:
- Annual Thanksgiving dinner
- Food assistance for senior citizens
